How Barks Pedorthics Keeps You Safe And Comfortable During An In-Home Assessment

Part of the reason many people may be hesitant to get an assessment, either in their home or outside of it, is due to worries about staying safe. We here at Barks Pedorthics want to make sure that people are comfortable and know that we are taking precautions to keep illnesses such as COVID-19 from spreading. Megan, our office manager, has an underlying condition that puts her at risk for complications from respiratory illnesses so disease safety is a very personal concern for all of us at Barks Pedorthics. 

In addition to illness prevention we are committed to treating your home with the respect it deserves. Before each appointment Evan sanitizes his hands and dons a KN95 mask, which will remain fully on during the duration of the appointment. Upon arriving at your door Evan will ask if you'd like him to put on boot covers to protect your floors or carpets. Before touching your feet Evan dons a fresh, never-worn, pair of hypoallergenic nitrile gloves. After each appointment everything is either sterilized or disposed of as appropriate. These are our base precautions. If there is anything extra you'd like us to do to keep your home safe, please just ask. We can't guarantee we'll be able to accommodate everything, but we will certainly try. 

In terms of personal safety for all parties Evan records audio of his appointments so you can be sure there is a record of the time he is in your home. We are happy to allow any support people to sit in on pedorthic assessments as well.
